ABOUT THE ARTIST

When I was 9 years old, my father would play and sing old country songs like Hank Williams and Johnny Cash for me and my brother down in the recreation room in our beautiful connecticut home. My experience with music up until that point was listening to The Monkees on vinyl with my brother while jumping up and down on the bed. One day I discovered a song on the radio and purchased the 45 for the record player. That song was Run Dmc and Aerosmith's Walk this way. I continued to gather a few 45's until my first walkman. One day I discovered a band that propelled me into playing an instrument. That band was Duran Duran. My favirite part about the music was the bass, and I wanted to know how to play it. I imagined myself performing the songs live, doing rock star moves. My first bass was a Kramer, I took lessons and eventually learned How to slap and pop the bass listening to Primus. Later on, forming a band called Handshake that I played Bass in, I picked up playing drums. Inspiration to play drums really kicked off after listening to Janes Addiction and Smashing Pumpkins. That group morphed into a Houston band called Grommet, where I played drums and recorded our first album. After 2 years of college for electronic music, I sarted to intern myself at Creed studios, while playing in a band called Creed, recording our material on professional equipment. After that experience, I started to acumulate similar gear, 2 Tascam DA38S, a DAT mastering unit, Compressors, Mixers, Mics, etc. I learned how to impliment MIDI and found a friend interested in singing to some of the material that was created. Formed the band Shel in 1997 releasing 4 distributed CD's locally, some of which has been stripped down and remixed for current projects, and 3 solo projects that I sang on titled Speorg. In that time there were also Recording sessions with a few indie artists, Natrix (brilliantly talented rapper), Rusty Wilmot, Steven King, Magz, Joseph Fertitta, to name a few. After 5 years on hiatus, I rediscovered music again in a new light, ready to share it with you. Thank you for reading, and enjoy the music! DG
